HotSpringsFind was built to solve a major problem for outdoor enthusiasts: fragmented, outdated, and unverified information about natural hot springs. Most travel blogs reuse speculative information, leading to unsafe soaking temperatures, lost travelers, or trespass violations on fragile public lands.
We compile public geothermal records and community reports into one searchable directory, checked in a two-stage editorial review. Because field conditions change faster than any directory, always confirm access status, fees, land ownership, and current conditions with the land manager before visiting.
Who Runs This Site
HotSpringsFind is an independent project founded and maintained by Arman Khan. It started from a simple frustration: most hot-springs directories and travel blogs present closed resorts, prohibited soaks, and private land as if they were ordinary destinations — and travelers drive hours to find a locked gate.
The directory is run by a very small team, not a media company. Records are compiled from official land-manager publications, archived federal geothermal surveys, operator websites, and community field reports, then labeled honestly — including the records we don't recommend visiting. If a listing is wrong, contact us directly; corrections are reviewed against the best available source before they ship.

NOAA Thermal Springs List
The NOAA/USGS national inventory of thermal springs (compiled 1980, decommissioned May 2025). Historical source of geothermal spring locations and source temperatures — not current conditions.
Bureau of Land Management and US Forest Service manage much of the land where springs sit. Land status varies by location — always verify access rules with the managing agency.
1. Water Temperature SafetySoak temperatures between 98°F and 104°F are generally considered comfortable. Hotter water can cause burns or heat stress — always test water before entering, and treat reported temperatures as estimates.
2. Leave No Trace PrinciplesWe actively advocate for Leave No Trace ethics: never use soap/shampoo in natural pools, pack out all trash, and respect wildlife habitats.
3. Community ReportsListings incorporate community-submitted reports and corrections, reviewed against official sources where possible — submit corrections through our contact form when data is wrong.
