Terrace Lakes began as a private country club in 1995 and now operates as a public mountain resort tucked into the Boise National Forest foothills above Garden Valley. Its geothermal source emerges at about 157°F — mineral water rich in silica, calcium, magnesium and sodium bicarbonate — and cools naturally on its way to a large outdoor pool maintained around 90–100°F and only 2–5 feet deep, so it functions more as a warm swimming pool than a hot tub. The pool is open daily year-round with no reservations; swimsuit and towel rentals are offered, and water-aerobics classes run twice weekly.
