Detailed Description

A series of travertine soaking pools and a covered tub perched on a bare rock face ~150 ft above the North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River in Umpqua National Forest, with views of Surprise Falls. Managed by the US Forest Service as day-use only; nudity is common and expected. Spring temps 100-115°F. Fee: $5/vehicle/day (Northwest Forest Pass accepted). Day-use only. FR 3401 typically closes in winter (Nov-Apr) adding ~2.5 mi each way. Parking area has a history of vehicle break-ins. Steep slick footing.
