Tenzen Springs & Cabins occupies a 100-acre forested bluff about five miles east of Stevenson, on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. Rather than shared pools, each cabin has its own outdoor geothermal soaking tub on a private deck, fed continuously from a deep underground aquifer, plus an indoor steam shower, kitchenette, WiFi, and air conditioning. Owner Nanae Yoshida designed the property around Japanese onsen bathing culture blended with Scandinavian spa tradition — billed as the first onsen-inspired private-tub cabin resort in the Pacific Northwest.
Access is strictly for overnight guests, adults-only, with contactless check-in and no staffed front desk; soaking is available at any hour on each cabin's own schedule. Quirks worth knowing: the rail line along SR-14 is audible from the cabins at night, a mild sulfur scent hangs around the tub areas, elk and wild turkey frequent the grounds, and the property is entirely pet-free and smoke-free. One cabin is ADA-compliant with a slightly larger layout.
